Love like a liquid

spilled so splendid.

Should the cup be full

so to life

but when the cup

bare empty

for the well had run too dry

but love is not something

that must run and hide.

So let us drink

from the glass of sincerity

while the wounds of yesterday

are slow to make their way.

For love it sips

with the day

and the night

spills the cup away.

Then it came so sure

faced down in a puddle

flashed a radiant blur

shining so right

bubbling up bright

was a smile no longer muddled.

To let it all go

is why I must

leave it where

it will always glow

it’s the only way

for this thing to grow

and away it flowed

upon a river flooded wild.

While the pain

tried to turn around

as it crossed the plain

but to no avail

for it fell with the rain.

But upon that river’s surface

a stillness so sure

buried deep beneath it

a change was churning

one never seen

let alone felt

but it was written yearning

in the depths of a dream

where my soul

it smiled discerning

while the wounds

they blossomed

no longer burning.

I guess I’m on a Mofro bender.  Thanks for stopping by.

My roots are buried in the Dirty South. I grew up learning the importance of God and Southern Charm. I began writing in my late teens mostly through heartbreak and music. I moved out west 15 years ago and live right around the corner from the Fountain Of Youth. Most people refer to it as Lake Tahoe. I play Chef during the day and search for ways to save the world by night, through reading, writing, and believing. I enjoy the side of life that is less abrasive. I look forward to joining you on my quest through Spiritual Sobriety with the Promised Land as our ultimate destination.
