Life Is But A Leaf

The leaf springs
From an expression of hope
A soul so alive
in the sun it shall thrive.

The leaf it lives
with a love that gives
amongst the limb
and against the wind
shivered by a grace
that filled this empty space.

The leaf it withers
With the sound of winter
colored by life’s little change
where death is nothing more
than a wicked splinter.

The leaf it dies
without a single cry
known that its purpose
lived through the life
that gave as it was given.

For life is but a leaf
as such there is much
to learn from the ease
in which these leaves
speak through me.

Great post! I esp. love this line, “Where death is nothing more than a wicked splinter.” There is a time and place for everything. I wish we would mourn the leaves losses but then again it’s all a part of nature. 🙂

Death is the only guarantee in life. Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
