Soul Climb

There comes a time

for the soul to unwind

from the grief and the giving

that gives in to make-believing.

But the soul shall

go on living

dying to see

seeing it die.

Yet instead of being shy

the soul finds its way

back to where it feels most alive.

For the fight to see

another glorious day

lives with a smile and a breath

on an unknown journey

through a valley

called the shadow of death

where the heart waits

with a beat and a rhyme

escaped from the embrace

of hate’s frivolous crime.

There is but one thing left to do

to ascend that final climb

that takes this to

the edge of a different time

written by the forever

of a peaceful mind.

My roots are buried in the Dirty South. I grew up learning the importance of God and Southern Charm. I began writing in my late teens mostly through heartbreak and music. I moved out west 15 years ago and live right around the corner from the Fountain Of Youth. Most people refer to it as Lake Tahoe. I play Chef during the day and search for ways to save the world by night, through reading, writing, and believing. I enjoy the side of life that is less abrasive. I look forward to joining you on my quest through Spiritual Sobriety with the Promised Land as our ultimate destination.
